Hi, does anyone know the concentration of sodium hydroxide in oven cleaner? Would you say it is more or less than 4%? I couldn’t find this information anywhere so I’m just wondering if anyone just knows.

How do you remove BAKED ON Oven Cleaner!!???!!?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

Yes that’s right. My husband and I have a few rentals of which all have new self cleaning ovens. One of our tenants didn’t know how to clean the oven …without using oven cleaner…and sprayed the whole oven, door and everything, with oven cleaner, let it sit overnight and then ran the self cleaning cycle literally baking on all of the oven cleaner. What do I do to get it off??? I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed with a scouring pad, soap and water and even tried to re-clean it with oven cleaner and nothing is working!!! Help!

How about a paste of baking soda and rinsing with vinegar and water. Good Luck! =)

What is the active compound in plant food and oven cleaner?

thank you :)

The active ingredient in oven cleaner is usually NaOH , which is lye or sodium hydroxide

Plant food has three active ingredients, ammonium nitrate for nitrogen,

2)Potassium and the 3rd ingredient is Phosphorous.

My guess is the ingredient is phosphorous which they make into phosphates which is also a very good cleaner

I sprayed oven cleaner in the oven and then forgot about it?

Thursday, January 24th, 2013

I sprayed some oven cleaner in the oven and then let it sit for the 15 minutes and forgot about it for several days. How do i go back and clean it out?

All you have to do is rinse it off with hot water and sponge

It better to let it sit for 15 minutes to try to remove residue. A Barcue Brush would work better at stuck on grease.

I have a grill outside in my yard and it really needs a good cleaning. I was wondering if I am able to use a oven cleaner to clean the grill. If that is possible do you think someone could give me directions on how to clean the grill? Thanks!

I know that my dad has used it!!! he scrubs it with grill cleaning brush… I have never done it myself but i am pretty sure its ok to use.
Have you looked, you may be able to find some kind of grill cleaner.

can i use oven cleaner in my bread machine?

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013

My bread rose over my loaf pan in my Hitachi bread machine and poured onto the element. Smoke filled the whole house and it’s a black crusted mess inside. Can I use oven cleaner to clean it up?

Nooooooooooooo!!!! Never, ever use oven cleaner for your bread machine! Just clean it the best you can following the manufacturer’s manual. Like the other person said, you can damage the heating element in the bread machine with the spray. It’s just not worth it. Just use the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions. Good luck!

Is it safe to use oven cleaner on baking trays?

Saturday, January 12th, 2013

Hi, might be a daft question but am a bit paranoid lol.

Boyfriend cleaned our baking trays on sunday with some Mr Muscle oven cleaner and i cooked some dinner on it tonight, i put tin foil over it as i wasn’t happy about my food touching any residue on it, but after taking the tray out i could still smell the oven cleaner on it.

Is it ok to use oven cleaner?

Thanks

I use oven cleaner on most of my pans, it works. The reason why it smells of oven cleaner is because it wasn’t properly washed and rinsed after he did it. Re-clean it.
